A Carthage Missouri man is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of felony possession of stolen property following his arrest north of Riverton Thursday afternoon.

"Just before noon, our office received a report of suspicious activity north of Galena and deputies responded to the area.  Thanks to alert residents who passed on the vehicle information and direction of travel, the vehicle was located north of Riverton, where deputies arrested 43 year-old Billy Gene Osborne, of Carthage, and recovered a truck, which had been reported stolen out of Southwest Missouri," according to Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.
