Emergency Road Condition Crash Reporting Plan Implemented

12/17/2016

Due to the current treacherous road conditions, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging everyone to stay off the roadways unless absolutely necessary.  In a short period of time this afternoon, emergency responders have been dispatched to a considerable number of crashes, both injury and non-injury.  Although additional deputies have been called in to handle the influx of calls, we are implementing the Emergency Road Condition Crash Reporting Plan.

As a result, if you choose to drive and are involved in a non-injury crash, we ask that you exchange driver information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, insurance companies and policy numbers.

Deputies will continue to respond to injury crashes or where one of the drivers leaves the scene without exchanging information.

Anyone involved in a non-injury crash that still wishes to file a report, may do so by contacting the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office after weather conditions improve.
