Eddie Eagle Visits Columbus Elementary Schools

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was proud to bring the National Rifle Association’s “Eddie Eagle Gunsafe” Program to Columbus Elementary Schools this week.  The educational program focuses on gun accident prevention by teaching young students not to touch a gun if they see one and to immediately go tell an adult.

“The Eddie Eagle Program gives our deputies tools to teach young kids that guns are are to be respected.  We appreciate the school district, and parents who allowed their children to participate, for allowing us to bring this important message,” stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.
