Coat Drive Scheduled for Saturday

MVP Athletics and Sheriff’s Office Join Forces to Keep Kids Warm

November 17, 2015

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and MVP Athletics are proud to partner this year to conduct the 2015 winter coat drive!  This Saturday, November 21st, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., residents can drop off new or gently used coats at MVP Athletics, located at 811 West 11th in Galena.

The coats will then be distributed through Cherokee County schools to children you may otherwise not have a warm coat this winter.

“We appreciate MVP Athletics’ strong commitment to our community and their willingness to partner with our office on this important and worthwhile project,” stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.  “In years’ past, Cherokee County residents have really came through with making sure our children don't suffer through the winter because of a lack of a warm coat.  I’m confident that this year will be no different.  In addition to MVP Athletics in Galena, community members may drop coats at the Sheriff’s Office,” concluded Groves.
