Morning Raid Lands Two in Jail

Just after 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 1006 West Vine Street, just outside of Galena.
The raid was the result of a nearly yearlong investigation surrounding suspected illegal narcotic activity at the residence.
During the course of the search, investigators discovered chemicals in various stages of the methamphetamine manufacturing process. In addition, suspected finished methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also located.
Troy Drury, 37, of the home was taken into custody on allegations of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Samantha J. Heine, 29, of the home was also arrested on allegations of: Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both suspects are being held without bond pending the filing of formal charges which are anticipated later this week.
The investigation is considered ongoing and additional charges and arrests are anticipated.
All suspects in criminal cases should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
