2 In Custody Following Search Warrants

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Galena Police Department and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 910 North Columbus Avenue in Galena.

During the course of the search, investigators discovered a suspected methamphetamine manufacturing operation, to include finished product as well as chemicals in various stages of the manufacturing process.

The suspect, who was not home at the time investigators arrived, was located a short time later, pulling into the driveway of 803 North Columbus Avenue.

The suspect, Richard Lansaw, 54, was taken into custody, while his passenger, Robert Wayne Jackson, age 53, who resides at 803 North Columbus Avenue, was detained and interviewed by narcotics investigators.

Following that interview, a second search warrant was obtained for Jackson's home.

Agents conducting the second search warrant seized suspected narcotics as well as items believed to be used for the unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

Richard Lansaw remains in the Cherokee County Jail, without bond, on allegations of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursor Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Robert Wayne Jackson also remains in the Cherokee County Jail, without bond, on allegations of Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursor Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
