April Drug Take Back Another Success

04/30/2013

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with local agencies and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted another successful Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, April 27, 2013.

Four locations in Cherokee County provided residents an opportunity to safely discard unused, expired or unwanted prescription medications.

In total, over 230 pounds of drugs were collected and will now be transferred to the DEA for safe destruction, rather than lingering in home medicine cabinets, where they can be susceptible to intentional or unintentional misuse, theft and abuse.
