Just before noon on December 4th, 2012, a resident observed a suspicious vehicle leaving an abandoned house northeast of Columbus.  The resident contacted the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, providing dispatch with the vehicle and occupant descriptions and followed the vehicle, until deputies located it near Crestline.

Simultaneously, other deputies responded to the home northeast of Columbus, to find someone had entered it and stole copper piping and wiring.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the vehicle, where copper piping and wiring was discovered.

Scott Fuller, 30, of Carl Junction, the driver of the 1999 Honda Accord, was arrested along with the passenger, 29 year-old Casey Caudle, of Joplin.

Both suspects were formally charged in Cherokee County District Court on Thursday morning and remain in the Cherokee County Jail on charges of Burglary and Theft.

Bond has been set at $15,000.00 each.
