Two In Custody Following Burglary Investigations

On August 19th, 2012, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after a Scammon resident discovered that his vehicle had been broken into and its contents were stolen. 

Anthony Perry, 20, is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 bond as the result of that investigation.  Perry has been charged with Burglary and Felony Theft.

In an unrelated case, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to another Scammon home on August 21st, 2012, where the homeowner reported that his 4-wheeler ATV had been stolen from inside his garage.

Less than an hour later, deputies located the 4-wheeler, and suspect, approximately 9 miles east of Scammon on a rural road.

The suspect, 23 year old Derrick Thompson, was taken into custody and has been charged with Burglary, Felony Theft, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

Thompson also remains in custody in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.
