KDOT working to clear roads

City crews were out early working to clear and remove snow

Due to the extremely treacherous road conditions, the Cherokee County Office of Emergency Management has requested assistance from the Kansas National Guard.

Emergency personnel, including ambulances, are having difficulty in responding to emergency calls for assistance.  As a result, Guardsmen will be escorting ambulances with military vehicles to help ensure they arrive to their destinations safely.

Again, everyone is strongly urged to stay off the roadways until further advised.
