On Tuesday evening, September 28th, 2010, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Galena Police Department and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a narcotics related search warrant at 1106 Elm Street, in Galena.

During the course of the search, investigators discovered a suspected methamphetamine lab, along with components and chemicals in various stages of the methamphetamine manufacturing process.

The suspect was not home at the time of the warrant execution.

However, law enforcement located the suspect, 42 year-old Ron Wagner Jr., a short time later and conducted a traffic stop on him.

At the traffic stop, they discovered additional items, which they suspect to be methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Wagner was charged Thursday in Cherokee County District Court with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursor Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Wagner is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 bond.
