Four In Custody Following Columbus Raid

At approximately 6:30 Thursday morning, July 29, 2010, investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Columbus Police Department executed a search warrant at 307 South Idaho Street in Columbus.

The search revealed suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home.

As a result of the investigation, four suspects were arrested and taken to the Cherokee County Jail.


Donald Heath Matter, 34, of the home, was arrested on a Felony Arrest Warrant from the State of Missouri for being a parole absconder, and also on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  A Cherokee County Judge has set bond for Matter in the amount of $25,000.00.  He remains in custody. 

Lonnie Harrison, 26, Chanute, was arrested on a Felony Arrest Warrant out of Crawford County, Kansas for Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault and Criminal Threat.  In addition, Harrison is being held on suspicion of Possessing Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. He remains in custody in lieu of $5,000.00 bond for the narcotics related charges.

Cynthia Kathleen Dawn Evans, 26, was arrested on suspicion of Possessing Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.  Bond of $5,000.00 has been set by a Cherokee County Judge. Evans, of Columbus, remains in custody.

Vanessa Trisco, 19, of Columbus, was also arrested on suspicion of Possessing Methamphetamine, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.  She posted bond and was released.
