Two in Custody Following Scammon Raid

 Two Scammon residents are in custody after the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at their home.

Around noon on Thursday, June 24, 2010, investigators served the warrant at 100 North Wall Street.

During the course of the search, officers discovered numerous plants, suspected of being marijuana, growing both inside and outside the home, along with suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia items. In addition, several firearms were located inside the residence.

Lesa McCormick, 46, Scammon, was arrested and is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $14,000. She is being held on suspicion of Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Also arrested was 20 year-old, Andrew McCormick. He is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on suspicion of Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Opiates, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond has been set at $19,000.00

Formal charges are expected to be filed in Cherokee County District Court on Friday.
