Two in Custody for Meth Manufacturing

Just prior to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17th, 2010, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, along with the Galena Police Department and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 2725 South Wood in Galena.

The search warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation into alleged narcotics activity at the home.

During the course of the search, investigators discovered chemicals in various stages of the methamphetamine manufacturing process along with finished product.

Arrested at the scene were 46 year-old Scott Treadway and 45 year-old Janie Treadway, both of the home.

Formal charges were filed in Cherokee County District Court on Thursday.

Scott Treadway is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 bond and has been charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursor Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Janie Treadway is also being held on $50,000.00 bond for identical charges but also has an additional $500.00 bond in connection with an outstanding warrant for Failure to Pay Child Support.
