Two Arrested for Arson, Criminal Damage To Property

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in numerous cases throughout the county.


Brandon Youngblood, 19, of Riverton and 18 year-old Johnny Robinson, of Galena, were arrested on Monday, March 8, 2010, and are being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 bond.


Formal charges were filed in Cherokee County District Court earlier today.  
Each is charged with 4 counts of Arson, 8 counts of Criminal Damage to Property, 1 count of Burglary, and 1 count of Contributing to a Child’s Misconduct.


The two, and others, are alleged to have gone throughout southeast Cherokee County damaging mailboxes, committing burglary, setting fires, and causing damage to vehicles and yards.

The Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office, Baxter Springs Police Department, and the Riverton Post Office provided valuable assistance in tthis case.

The investigation is ongoing and charges on additional suspects are expected.
