As area football fans plan to enjoy Super Bowl LVIII, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office wants to make sure our roadways are safe.

"A lot of people are especially excited this year as the Kansas City Chiefs make yet another Super Bowl appearance.  We not only want to see a fantastic game and a victory for Chiefs Kingdom, but also want to make sure those traveling to and from Super Bowl celebrations - and all others on our area roadways - make it home safe," stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.

"Our agency, and many others in the area, will be increasing patrols on Sunday afternoon and evening with extra vigilance for those drivers who choose to drive at unsafe speeds, unrestrained or impaired," continued Sheriff Groves.

Overtime costs associated with this Special Traffic Safety Campaign will be funded through a partnership grant with the Kansas Department of Transportation.
