Jacob W. Major

Jacob W. Major, 22, of rural Columbus, was taken into custody late Thursday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest earlier that day.

The issuance of the warrant stems from an investigation launched in March 2021, by Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, into Major's alleged criminal online activity.

Major is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $250,000.00 bond. He has been charged with 4 counts of Aggravated Internet Trading in Child Pornography and 6 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child.
