After deliberating for nearly three hours, a Cherokee County Jury returned their verdict Thursday afternoon, following the trial of Jason L. Miller.

The trial, which started Tuesday morning, came after Cherokee County Sheriff's Detectives began an investigation in November 2019, into Miller's criminal conduct with a juvenile.

The jury found the 36-year-old Baxter Springs man guilty on three counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and one count of lewd and lascivious behavior.

Following the reading of the verdict, the Judge ordered Miller to be held in the Cherokee County Jail and scheduled his sentencing for December.

Miller was prosecuted by the Cherokee County Attorney's Office.
