Thanksgiving Safe Arrival Campaign Underway
11/20/2022
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is joining other law enforcement agencies across Kansas in the *THANKGIVING SAFE ARRIVAL traffic enforcement campaign. Although all Kansas Traffic Laws will be enforced, during this enhanced enforcement campaign, officers, deputies, and state troopers will be actively enforcing our state occupant protection laws.
"It's estimated more Americans will travel during this year's Thanksgiving Holiday than compared to years past," stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves in announcing the Sheriff's Office participation in the enforcement campaign.
"AAA is predicting 54.6 million travelers this year and with an increased number of vehicles on the roadway, there also comes an increased potential for being involved in a traffic crash. That's why our office, and our area law enforcement partners, will be enhancing patrols to help keep families safe for the holiday," concluded Sheriff Groves.
Funding for the Thanksgiving Safe Arrival Traffic Enforcement Campaign is supported by a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
