Dustin McMinn

Just before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, law enforcement was dispatched to a disturbance outside of Weir. 

Upon arrival, the suspect, 35 year-old Dustin McMinn, became aggressive and combative with the responding deputy.

As additional deputies and troopers arrived to assist, the suspect continued to be combative and non-compliant before being secured and transported to the Cherokee County Jail.

McMinn is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $30,000.00 bond on allegations of Aggravated Battery on Law Enforcement, Battery on Law Enforcement, and Interference.

The initial responding deputy was assessed for injuries at Mercy Maude Norton Hospital and later released.
