Topic: Arrest for Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Breach of Privacy

            On May 19. 2026 Detectives with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office served a Search Warrant at an address in Baxter Springs for crimes related to the Sexual Exploitation of a Child. This was in relation to an ongoing investigation that was being conducted by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

            George Ellis, age 75 of Baxter Springs, was arrested on a warrant that had been issued for Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Breach of Privacy. Ellis was transported to the Cherokee County Jail where he was booked for the warrant.
