April 2026 is National Child Abuse Prevention Month  

April 8 Baxter High School- 53rd Kent Warstler Awards Ceremony- by the Baxter Springs Lions Club

April 10 Wear Blue Day: is designated to wear blue to show support for prevention efforts.

April 25 Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

          Drop off locations include the Galena Police Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
