Faith and Blue Events Planned

Following several high profile incidents across the United States and subsequent efforts to divide communities and the men and women of law enforcement, the National Faith and Blue Weekend was born in 2020.

Through collaboration between law enforcement professionals and leaders from local Houses of Worship, Faith and Blue organizers strive to strengthen community partnerships, enhance communication and promote understanding.

"Communities become strong and like ours, they remain strong through mutual respect and trust between law enforcement and those we are honored to serve.  By partnering with local faith based leaders we can continue to bring the community together, bridge gaps and work together to solve issues which may be impacting our neighbors," stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.

Last year, over 1,600 Faith Based Organizations participated in the National Faith and Blue Weekend in over 670 communities across the country, including in Cherokee County.

"We have been really blessed in Cherokee County with organizations, particularly our faith based community, who have historically collaborated with area law enforcement. Those already established partnerships made it easy for our county to be involved with Faith and Blue since its inception. This year is no different with multiple community events already scheduled. In fact, things will start a little earlier than planned with events kicking off with National Coffee with a Cop Day on Wednesday. Regardless of what town any particular event is scheduled for, law enforcement from all area agencies along with state partners who work in the area and citizens from all parts of Cherokee County are invited to attend," according to Sheriff Groves.

The community is invited to attend any of this week's upcoming Faith and Blue Events:
