Raid on Scammon Home Lands One in Jail

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Highway Patrol Warrant Team raided a Scammon home just after sunrise Monday.

“An investigation, which has been ongoing by our office for the past several months, led to this mornings warrant execution at 200 East 1st Street,” stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.

Arrested at the scene was James Theodore Robinson, 53, of Girard.  Robinson is being held at the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of Possessing Methamphetamine and Felony and Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia.  His bond is currently set at $8,000.00.

“On May 14th, our office executed a previous search warrant on this home, where stolen property was recovered and two suspects, William Clinton and Bryan Thorpe, were taken into custody,” continued Sheriff Groves.

“The investigation into the suspected illegal activity associated with this residence, as well as those known to have ties to this residence, remains ongoing and we anticipate additional arrests to be made,” concluded Sheriff Groves.
