Just after 8:00 a.m., on Monday, March 23, 2015, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a field area on the north edge of Scammon, where a deceased individual had been located.

Deputies arrived and secured the scene. At this time, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation continue to process the area.

The deceased identity and manner of death is being withheld at this time as the investigation continues.
